Competence Center Medicine - Ethics - Law Helvetiae Launches Three New Healthcare CAS Programs
In Autumn 2026, the Competence Center Medicine - Ethics - Law Helvetiae (MERH) at the University of Zurich is launching three new part-time Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) programs. Aimed at healthcare professionals, the courses address the legal, ethical, and organizational challenges of modern medicine.
Today, medicine and healthcare are more deeply intertwined with legal, organizational, and societal issues than ever before. To adequately prepare professionals and executives for these evolving challenges, UZH's MERH offers practical further education that fosters interdisciplinary exchange. The course portfolio encompasses specialized programs focusing on everyday legal frameworks, patient safety and professional error management, as well as the complex interdisciplinary aspects of rare diseases. Participants gain profound insights into critical topics such as liability, safety culture, digitalization, and innovative therapies. The ultimate goal is to equip attendees with the necessary skills and networks to actively and securely shape the future of the healthcare system and patient care.
- The CAS Law for Medics and Health Professionals UZH begins in October 2026 (Application deadline: September 6, 2026).
- The CAS Safety in Healthcare UZH and the CAS Rare Diseases UZH begin in September 2026 (Application deadline: August 7, 2026).
